Koa – Retired

SORRY KOA IS RETIRED AND HAS BEEN NEUTERED

Koa is a Beyonce puppy from her first litter, born December 14, 2014. He lives in Seattle with his parents and a bunny named Thumper. Koa loves to cuddle, his favorite toy is a stuffed hedgehog, the park is his favorite place and who can blame him because people commonly mistake him for a stuffed animal on the street and want to meet him, give him some attention and tell him how adorable he is. He currently weighs 14 pounds.

Koa has passed his eye certification as well as patella – these are both pass/fail certs. His hips received an EXCELLENT rating! Orthopedic Foundation for Animals only gives a “preliminary” certification on hips after 2 years of age which is why Koa’s results do not show on the report however I’m adding a picture because this is definitely worth bragging about!!

JLo – Retired

26 Nov

JLo is a mini Australian Labradoodle born in September 2014.  She has what some breeders call a “wool” coat which sounds like it feels course to the touch but it actually means tight poodle curls, she is soft like cotton. She is a mulitgen which just means both parents are doodles and also means her coat feels super soft. This look is beautiful but it does require a lot of grooming to keep from mattering. JLo has received her OFA certificates for her eyes and patella (both are pass/fail). Her hips received a preliminary certification because they were done before she was 2 years old so the results are not on the website however I still received a certificate. Her genetic testing was done with Paw Print Genetics and can be found here. If you scroll down you will also see I also ran the panel to see what colors she is able to produce since everyone seems to be looking for the more rare red puppies so I wanted to make sure I chose the best pairing. JLo can have chocolate puppies as well as phantom however she is so small I have not found an appropriate size stud to get those results so I have been focused on red. She has had both abstract and parti puppies. Her puppies are beautiful! She is also a true mini at only 17 pounds so her litter size has been 6 puppies and 4 puppies. JLo lives in our home with us in Bothell so she will have 4 litters before retirement. Please note, she will not be rehomed after retirement she will continue to live with us as our pet, helping supervise future litters along with Beyonce and Fergie.

She had 4 litters starting in August 2014 and retired 2 years late in late 2016. Shakira lives with our friends Karen and Katy in Seattle and we see her often.

Beyonce – Retired

26 Nov

OFA Cert Information

Beyoncé is a 21 pound multi gen mini Australian Goldendoodle born May 20, 2013. Beyoncé’s parents are both 15 pounds and I have included their pictures.

Beyoncé has a curly coat which requires frequent full body brushing, focusing in areas that experience heavy friction such as behind the ears, under the neck, the base of the tail and underneath the limbs to avoid matting. We like Beyoncé with a longer/fluffier coat but cannot trim on our own so she goes to the groomers 2-3 times per year. Curly coated goldendoodles are considered to be the most non-shedding.

Beyoncé has received training from Anna Bolick from Paws With No Flaws. Beyoncé is a quick learner and responsive to training but her preference is cuddling, she adores people and thrives on companionship, this is a dog that will follow you everywhere.

Beyonce had her first litter in December 2014 and she had 3 boys and 2 girls. Her second litter was July 2015 and she had 5 boys and 2 girls. Her final litter is expected in May 2016. After her final litter she will be spayed and remain at our home as our pet. Beyonce will not be rehomed – she is NOT available, thank you for the inquires.

Regarding coat:

As your doodle develops into a dog and out of their puppy coat they may lose a little hair and the coat may lighten or darken, for example Beyoncé’s  coat was looser curls as a puppy and then her curls tightened to a slightly more poodle level. Please keep in mind that your dog can have a completely different look based on the haircut which is one of the reasons we ask you to make your puppy selection in person based on personality and not solely appearance.
